Why You Should Go For Digital Wedding Photography

Why You Should Go For Digital Wedding Photography

With the resurgence of film photography in recent years, should you and your partner consider going all-film for your wedding photos? Well, you could, but digital is still generally a better option. Here’s why:

More room for error

While the actual wedding ceremony may be calm and organized, the reception may not necessarily follow suit. People will definitely be moving around more (and unpredictably too). Some will be dancing, some laughing over dinner. There will most likely be kids running around as well.

Long story short, there’s a big chance that your wedding photographer ct would end up taking a lot of bad shots that they’d then have to replace with new, better ones – which shouldn’t be any problem at all with a digital camera. Unfortunately, this could mean significantly higher costs if your photographer is using film.

The ability to do post-processing

Shooting in film requires wedding photographers to get the perfect shot every time because there’s practically no way to touch the photos up. Unfortunately, this can only happen when all the conditions are right, i.e., the lighting, the poses, and even the camera settings line up perfectly.

Obviously, a skilled photographer can make something like this happen. They’ve been successfully doing it way before digital cameras were invented. But it takes time – and there are just so many unexpected moments at weddings that photographers could miss if they lose focus for even a split second.

In contrast, minor imperfections in digital photos could easily be remedied using various image editing software so photographers armed with digital cameras can focus better on the task at hand: capturing all the special moments the happen throughout the event.

Film-like quality

Back in the day, there was a clear difference between the quality of digital and film images. But digital camera technology has advanced so much over the years that this difference has become practically imperceptible today. Even professional photographers say the same thing.

And even if, by design, film is supposed to look better, considering the fact that you need near-perfect conditions for it to work at maximum efficiency, you’d still end up taking more great quality photos with a digital camera.

The bottom line

In terms of value for money, flexibility and overall photo quality, digital wedding photography is your best bet. Of course, if you have money to spare and are really a fan of film photography, then go for it. It’s your special day. You should not settle for something you’re not completely happy with.

But if you’ve decided to go digital and are planning to have your wedding in Connecticut, then we’d love to help you out. Contact Della Bella Photography today! We’re based in CT but we serve the entire Tri-State area.
